A day in the life of Zack Hensley
Ever wanted to know what at typical day in my life looks like? No...well you're about to find out anyway.
So hear is the story, I got a new phone, you know the kind, it's got a camera, video camera, Mp3 player, personal organizer, in fact I'm sure if I programmed it right I could teach it to change my oil. I has way to many functions for some one like me who is fascinated by new, compact, and utterly useless technology. So I decided that since I have absolutely now use for a camera on my phone, I'd use it to document an entire day of my life. So ladies and gentlemen without any further a due I give you "a day in the life of Zack Hensley"!

4:00pm: It's off to IHOP for the 4-6pm prayer meeting for Israel. Actually to be quite honest it's really more like 4:10pm, I slept a little later then I wanted to. So I'm late... which means I'm in a hurry. |

4:00-6:00pm Praying at the Tuesday fast meeting. All of the IHOP staff attends this meeting every week, so there is usually five to six hundred people here on a weekly basis praying for Israel. |

7:30pm I'm so psyched! The thrift store next door to Explorerz just got a large shipment of used books in!! $.49 a piece... |

If you didn't know, I will tell you now, I'm a total book nerd. I'll buy any book that even mildly intrigues me. I love reading and learning new things, especially if it's about the Bible or theology. So you can imagine how excited I was to find this place! I leave 20 books heavier, and $10 dollars lighter, a small price to pay for an education. |

8:25pm Picking up my friend Kyle from IHOP, to go to a class we have at FSM (forerunner school of ministry) |
![]() |
8:30pm A little worship at the start of class. |
![]() |
8:30-11:30pm This class is called "the Great Exchange", Stuart Greaves teaches. We are studying the Sermon on the Mount (Matt. 5,6,7) and learning ways to live it out in our everyday lives. Last weeks' assignment was find 5 people in your life that you need to forgive and forgive them. This weeks' assignment was to ask 5 people that you've wronged and ask for forgiveness. |

11:45pm Every night I meet with my Fire in the Night interns at this time, for 15 minutes before we go into the prayer room at Midnight. I basically cast the vision for our next 6 hours in the prayer room. What we are studying, praying for, and how everyone is doing with their prayer time. |
![]() |
12:00am
ahh my favorite place, the prayer room. Tonight I'm studying the book of Proverbs, and still praying for Israel. |
![]() |
1:00-200am
Lunch time! I supervise the Cafeteria for the Interns during their lunch time. They get a 30min lunch break every night, but since there are 70 interns half come at 1am and half come at 1:30am. Although this being fasting day there is no food being served, but smoothies and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches can be made. |

2:00am Back in the prayer room studying Proverbs, and praying for "a spirit of wisdom and revelation" (Eph. 1:17). |
![]() |
4:00am My friend Sara-Beth praying for Israel. As I have now transitioned from my devotional time, to Intercession and praying for Israel. |
![]() |
There are usually 100 plus people, mostly young adults between the ages of 20-35 that stand and pray in the night. |
![]() |
6:00am
Night has turned into Morning. The best part about the Nightwatch is you get to watch the sun set and rise before you go to bed. |
![]() |
6:15am At the other IHOP, The International House of...Pancakes! I'm here to meet a friend and talk about politics and the ending of abortion. |
![]() |
6:30-7:30am My friend Jonathan Baldwin, he and I always have very interesting conversations. Luckily he's buying, cause after dropping $10 on books I'm over budget this week. |
![]() |
7:45am Finally back home! My apartment must miss me, cause I'm never home. Now time to go to bed and sleep for tomorrow I get to "stand, serve, minister, and burn" (Ch9:11) all over again. |
