Ps. 16:7-11
7 I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the
night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand
I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also
will rest in hope. 10 For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your
Holy One to see corruption. 11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is
fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. NKJV

angel whom had God’s name in him.
III. CONNECTION BETWEEN MICHAEL AND A TIME OF TROUBLE
A. Standing up
–Rev. 12:7, II Thessalonians 2:7. Michael throws Satan out ofheaven.
Rev. 12:7-9 And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the
dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but they did not prevail, nor was a
place found for them in heaven any longer. 9 So the great dragon was cast out,
that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he
was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. NKJV

2 Thess. 2:7-9 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who
now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless
one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth
and destroy with the brightness of His coming. NKJV
B.
In Jacob’s Trouble the Rebellion Concentrates in a ManRev. 13:2 The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. NKJV
Rev. 13:7-8 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome
them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All
who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in
the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. NKJV
C.
Jacob’s Trouble, Jer. 30:7, Matthew 24:8, 21a. Time of intense persecution such as never was since there was a
nation, even to that time.
D. Different Time Descriptions
1. 42 months
"But leave out the court which is outside the temple, and do not
measure it, for it has been given to the Gentiles. And they will tread
the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. (Rev. 11: 2)
And he was given a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies,
and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. (Rev.
13: 5)
2. 1260 days
"And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy
one thousand two hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth."
(Rev. 11: 3)
Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place
prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two
hundred and sixty days. (Rev. 12: 6)

3. Time, times and half a time
But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might
fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time
and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. (Rev. 12:
14)
He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, shall
persecute the saints of the Most High, and shall intend to change
times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand for a time
and times and half a time. (Dan. 7: 25)
Then I heard the man clothed in lin
en,…swore by Him who livesforever, that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when
the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these
things shall be finished. (Dan. 12: 7)
IV. SCRIPTURES ON THE GREAT TRIBULATION
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of
the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matthew 24:21)
"At that time …there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a
nation, even to that time. (Daniel 12:1)
A. In Daniel 12, the angel told Daniel about this the most difficult time in history for
believers. There is coming a cataclysmic tribulation upon planet earth.
B. The Great Tribulation begins with the great act of abomination that leads to global
desolation.
1. Jesus' teaching on the abomination of desolations
"Therefore when you see the `abomination of desolation,' spoken of by
Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (Matt 24:15)
"So when you see the `abomination of desolation,' spoken of by Daniel
the prophet, standing where it ought not" (let the reader understand),
"then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (Mark 13:14)

2. Angelic teaching given to the prophet Daniel
"from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the
abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. (Dan.
12:11)
"After the 62 weeks Messiah shall be cut off…and the people of the
prince who is to come shall destroy the city…The end of it shall be with
a flood, and till the end of the war desolations are determined. Then he
shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; but in the middle of
the week he shall bring an end to sacrifice... on the wing of
abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the
consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate."
(Dan. 9:26-27)
"…they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the
daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation. (Dan
11:31)
Then I heard a holy one speaking…"How long wil
l the vision be,concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation, the
giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled under foot?"
(Dan. 8:13)
3. Jesus' teaching on the Great Tribulation.
"For in those days there will be tribulation, such as has not been from
the beginning of creation which God created until this time, nor ever
shall be. (Mark 13:19)
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the
beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Matt.
24:21)
"Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be
darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from
heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (Matt. 24:29)
"Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will
be hated by all nations for My name's sake. (Matt. 24:9)
For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.
(Luke 21:23)

"And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and
on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves
roaring; (Luke 21:25)
In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have
overcome the world." (John 16:33)
4. John in the book of Revelation
Behold, a great multi
tude…of all nations, saying, 10. "Salvation belongsto our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!" 13. Then one of
the elders answered, saying to me, "Who are these …and where did they
come from?" 14. He said to me, "These are the ones who come out of
the great tribulation…(Rev. 7: 9
-14)5. Old Testament prophets
Alas! For that day is great, so that none is like it; and it is the time of
Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it. (Jer. 30:7)
"At that time Michael shall stand up….and there shal
l be a time oftrouble, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time.
(Dan. 12: 1)
6. First Old Testament prophesy of the Great Tribulation
"And the LORD will scatter you among the peoples, and you will be left
few in number among the nations where the LORD will drive you. 28.
"And there you will serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and
stone…29. "But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you
will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul.
30. "When you are in distress, and all these things come upon you in
the latter days, when you turn to the LORD your God and obey His voice

V. CHASTISEMENT UNTO DELIVERANCE
A. Jer. 30:7 Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of
Jacob's trouble, But he shall be saved out of it. NKJV
B. Zech. 14:1-2 Behold, the day of the LORD is coming, And your spoil will be
divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle against
Jerusalem; The city shall be taken, The houses rifled, And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity, But the remnant of the people shall not be
cut off from the city. NKJV
C. Zech. 12-14
D. Joel 3
E. Rev. 16:13
–19:21VI. THE GREAT RESURRECTION
A. The Great Shout - John 5:25-30 Most assuredly, I say to you, the hour is coming,
and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God; and those who
hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son
to have life in Himself, 27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also,
because He is the Son of Man. 28 Do not marvel at this; for the hour is coming in
which all who are in the graves will hear His voice 29 and come forth -- those
who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to
the resurrection of condemnation. NKJV
B. The resurrection of the righteous and the resurrection of the wicked take place at
two separate times. The first at the beginning of the millennium and the second at
the end of the millennium.
Rev 20:4-6 And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was
committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for
their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast
or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands.
And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the
dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first
resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over
such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of
Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years. NKJV
