DANIEL 9 IS KEY TO THE GLOBAL PRAYER MOVEMENT

A. As a part of the prayer movement in the earth. Jesus has given us Daniel 9 as a part of our prophetic history.

1. Spring 1983 Mike hears the internal audible voice concerning the call of a 21 day fast, Daniel 9 and that the time for this nations visitation is upon us

2. Bob Jones has an encounter with the angel Gabriel who tells Bob to tell Mike Bickle to call the 21 days fast, and gives Bob Daniel 9. This confirms Mike’s encounter.

3. The Lord goes on to further confirming the word of the Lord by sending a comet unpredicted by scientist

B. Daniel 9 was given to us so that we can feed on it and fuel our hearts for intercession

1. Daniel 9 gives the clearest grid work for eschatology and it helps us connect the dots with the times that we are living in and thus making sense of the wisdom of intercession in this hour

2. Daniel shows that the wisest thing to do in a time of transition is to give ourselves to intercession, prayer and seeking understanding.

C. There are many things that come against the prayer movement that can cause us to back down, but the Lord is commited to strengthening His people and stir our spirit to build the house of the Lord. Some of the obstacles are:

1. Financial

2. Domestic circumstances

3. Health

4. Social

5. Our own desire for temporary comfort to be domesticated

6. Security of future

7. Stigma

8. Demonic resistance is intense as night and day priestly ministry before the throne is directly opposite to Satan’s night and day accusation before the throne

ESCHATOLOGY FUELS INTERCESSION – DANIEL 9:1-2

D. Our study of eschatology is to be more then to feed our curiousity about the end-times but it is to motivate us and sustain us in the place of intercession. Eschatatolgy has been graciously and strategically given to us by the Lord to fuel intercession and hope

1. The nation of Israel is in transition and Daniel finds himself reading the prophecies of Jeremiah. Daniel 9:1-2

2. By studying eschatology with a devotional spirit we are postering ourselves to receive understanding in the timing of the Lord. Daniel 9:2

3. Daniel gets touched with the Spirit of understanding to understand the hour that he is living in and it propels him to the place of intercession and fasting

"I Daniel understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet." Daniel 9:2

4. Daniel had a literal understanding of the unfolding of God’s prophetic time table. The unfolding of events were discernable through, prayer, fasting, meditation and current events.

E. Daniel sets have face to the Lord God. The Lord strengthen us on the inside as He is beckoning us in the grace of God to be set and resolutely stabilized on the wall – Daniel 9:3

1. We must in the grace of God "set" or face toward the Lord God

2. set means to apply, to charge, to commit, to consider

3. There has to be an intentional setting of the heart in the grace of God, Hebrews 12:1-2; I Corinthians 2:2; Psalm 27:4; Isaiah 52:2

F. The setting is towards the Adonai Elohim. We are to set our face and our heart to be fascinated again in the midst of the unfolding drama.

1. LORD – Adonai who is the Sovereign Monarch who is infinite, selfsustaining, uncreated. He is the Master who has absolute authority

a. Deuteronomy 10:17

b. Isaiah 66:1

2. God – Elohim who is Transcendant Majesty possessing all power and might. The beautiful God

3. Jesus possesses beauty that sustains

a. Isaiah 4:2 possesses beauty

b. Isaiah 40:28-29 possess beauty that sustains

c. Isaiah 40:31 imparts sustain beauty to those who wait on Him

4. When Daniel prays he cries out to the Great and Awesome God who covenants His covenant of love

a. Great and awesome God – Beauty of the sovereign King

b. One who keeps the covenant of love – the affectionate God.

5. We give ourselves to encountering the majesty of the king and his affections on the inside. Colosians 1:27

DANIEL GIVES HIMSELF TO INTERCESSION DANIEL 9:3-19

GABRIEL VISITS DANIEL WHILE HE WAS IN THE PLACE OF INTERCESSION

G. Gabriel comes and answers Daniel and gives, prophetic insight into the literateral administration of God’s purposes concerning Israel at the end of the age.

1. The administration of God in the earth is in accordance to the beauty of His majesty and His fiery affections.

2. We must approach eschatology with a spirit of devotion and love. In doing so the study of eschatology will serve its purpose

a. it continues to fuel Daniel to life a life of fasting and prayer (Daniel 10:2-3)

b. it fuels intercession at the end of the age

c. it fascinates the human heart and produces worship (Romans 11:33-36)

3. The dealings and the ways of God bring understading of who He is. The ways of God contain revelation of of His character because they flow in union with His character. Psalm 106:7…. "Our fathers did not understand your wonders."

THE UNFOLDING OF DANIEL’S 70^TH WEEK DANIEL 9:24-27

H. This passage is key and the grid through which we understand the chronological unfolding of the end of the age. It is one of the most important prophecies in the Old Testament. This passage gives specific insight into the prophetic time clock – Israel.

1. The discipline of the Lord continued resulting in the literal reign of the Messiah over the whole earth out of Jerusalem.

2. Leviticus 26:14-45 gives insight into the sevenfold dealings of God

3. The 490 years or 70 units of 7 revolve around the people in the city with the temple in place

4. I believe that we are living in the time that is approaching Daniels’ 70^th week. At the end of the 70^th week there are six things that will happen. I believe that these 6 six things describe the fullness of God promised to Abraham by oath –

a. Ephesians 1:10

I. The prophecy – There are six dimensions to the fullness of God for Israel revealed. Daniel 9:24

1. To finish the transgression – Israels apostasy will end and they will no longer be wandering in the earth.

2. To make an end of sins – sin will be completely removed, judged and locked up out and removed from the sight of God (Revelation 20:1-3??)

3. To make reconciliation for iniquity- the will be reconciled with the Son of God (II Cor 5:19) holiness restored, cleansed from unrighteousness

4. To bring in everlasting righteousness- righteousness and justice will filled the land and the whole earth (Jer 23:5-6)

5. To seal up vision and prophecy- the mystery of God complete (Revelation 10:7,11:15) Christ and the full purpose of God

6. To anoint the Most Holy- the literal reign of Christ on the earth

J. The break down and timeline of the prophecy that contains 69 weeks ( 7 units + 62 units) Daniel 9:25-26

1. The going forth of the command to rebuild the city in 445 BC is the key and starting point of Daniel’s 70 weeks. There are two views.

2. Nehemia 2:1-8 – the command to rebuild the city. 445 BC

a. It is 483 years from the command to rebuild to the triumphal entry of Christ. (Until Messiah the Prince)

3. Ezra 1:1 - the command to rebuild the temple BC 458

a. It is 483 years from the command to rebuild the temple to the baptism of Christ

4. It took 49 years (7 units of seven) from the decree to rebuild the city to finish it. Gabriel calls that time period troublesome times. We see this in the book of Nehemia that there were a lot of hassles for the Jewish people.

K. After the finishing of the wall of Jerusalem to the coming of Christ at the triumphal entry into Jerusalem/and He cleanses the temple there 62 units of seven weeks after which He is cut off.

1. After 483 years from the command to rebuild the city Christ is crucified.

a. The word cut off not for Himself could mean that He died the death of atonement or he died in vain, without obtain the fruit of His cause

2. After the Messiah is cut off the people of the prince, Rome (people) comes in and destroys the city and the sanctuary. The Roman General Titus leads this invasion and it starts a prophetic pause in Daniel’s 70 weeks refered to as war desolations, which I believe that we are still in that time period but is rapidly coming to a close.

3. Titus utterly destroyed Jerusalem and the temple … End of it shall be with a flood…

4. the city was completely destroyed and the people utterly scattered, the ceased to exist as a nation in the Palestinian region until 1948

5. The events of vs 25-26 have come to pass… literally, therefore the 70^th week is literal

L. Daniel’s 70^th week will be initiated again when the Anti-messiah makes a covenant with the nation of Israel Daniel 9:27

1. the Anti-Christ makes an covenant with the nation of Israel for seven years (this will initiate Daniel’s seventieth week)

2. He will break the covenant after 3.5 years by ending the sacrifices in the temple and demanding that he be worshipped (II Thessalonians 2:3-4), which will usher in Jacob’s trouble or the Great Tribulation.
